How the rental works
Is RETNetworks a rental service or do I buy the router?
It is a rental service. You rent the 4G LTE or 5G router from RETNetworks and the cellular data service is bundled into a single monthly price. Nothing is purchased or financed, there is no equipment fee, and if you cancel you simply return the router.
Do I need my own carrier account or SIM card?
No. The SIM is already installed and activated when your router ships, and the data service is included in your monthly price. You never open a carrier account, sign a carrier agreement or receive a second bill.
Which carrier networks does RETNetworks use?
We provision each router on the nationwide 4G LTE or 5G carrier network that performs best at your address, rather than locking every customer to one carrier. Advanced plans add Sure Connect, a multi-carrier SIM with access to more than 600 carrier networks, so the router can move to whichever network is strongest.
What happens if the cellular signal drops?
On a Standard plan the router reconnects to your primary network as soon as the signal returns. On an Advanced plan with Sure Connect, the router fails over to the multi-carrier backup SIM and picks the strongest available network automatically, so you stay online without touching anything.
Can I move the router to a different address?
Yes. There is no fixed service address and no installed line, so the same router works at a house, an office, a rural property, an RV, a construction site or a pop-up shop. Just power it on somewhere with cellular coverage.
What is included in the monthly price?
The router rental, the cellular data service, unlimited high-speed data at speeds up to 300 Mbps on your primary SIM, and support. Advanced plans also include Sure Connect multi-carrier failover. The only optional extra is $75 one-time on-site setup if you would rather not self-install.
Contracts, credit and billing
How much does RETNetworks internet cost?
Plans start at $60 per month for the Pocket 4G travel router and $64.97 per month for the 5G business router. Advanced plans with Sure Connect are $100 and $94.25 per month. All four plans include unlimited high-speed data at speeds up to 300 Mbps and the hardware. Daily hotspot rentals start at $17 per day, and wireless failover backup is $29.95 per month.
Do I need to sign a contract?
No. Every RETNetworks plan is month to month. You can cancel anytime, and there is no early termination fee.
Do you run a credit check?
No. We do not run credit checks on any plan, so getting connected does not depend on your credit score.
How much does installation cost?
Self-install is free and takes only a few minutes, because your router ships ready to plug in. If you would rather have a technician come out, on-site setup and installation is a one-time $75.
Can I get a discount for paying in advance?
Yes. Choose the 3-month prepay option at checkout to lower your monthly rate. The discount is applied automatically, so there is no promo code to enter.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. Every order is covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee.
Data, speed and equipment
Is the data really unlimited?
Yes. All four plans, on both 4G and 5G, include unlimited high-speed data. There is no data cap to watch and no overage charge.
How fast is RETNetworks internet?
Plans deliver high-speed service at speeds up to 300 Mbps on both our 4G and 5G networks.
Will my speed be throttled after a certain amount of data?
No. There is no data cap and no throttling, so your speed does not drop partway through the billing cycle.
Do I have to buy the router or pay an equipment fee?
No. The router hardware is included in your plan or rental price. There is no separate equipment charge, no hardware financing and nothing to buy up front.
Is 5G home internet good for gaming?
Yes, for the vast majority of players. Online games use very little bandwidth, so what matters is latency, and a cellular 5G connection with a strong signal is well inside the range for console and PC gaming, game streaming and party chat. Every plan includes unlimited high-speed data at speeds up to 300 Mbps with no data cap and no throttling, so a long session or a 100 GB game download will not slow you down later in the month. Highly competitive ranked play is the one case where a wired fiber line still has an edge.
How many devices can I connect at once?
Enough for a whole household or a small business. A typical family or shop runs phones, laptops, TVs, tablets, card readers and cameras on one router without trouble, because the unlimited high-speed data at speeds up to 300 Mbps is shared across everything on the network. If you are covering a large building or a lot of simultaneous video, tell us what you need to run and we will point you at the right router.
Is it fast enough for streaming and video calls?
Yes. A 4K stream needs roughly 25 Mbps and a Zoom or Teams call needs far less, so a connection with speeds up to 300 Mbps has room for several at the same time. Because there is no data cap and no throttling, streaming all evening or working full time on video does not cost you speed later in the billing cycle.
What are the downsides of wireless internet compared with cable or fiber?
Being honest about it: your speed depends on cellular signal quality at your location, so router placement matters, and a tower serving a lot of people can slow down at peak hours. Fiber also still wins on raw upload speed and the lowest possible latency. What you get in exchange is no trenching, no install window, no contract, no credit check, hardware included in the price, and a connection you can move or carry with you. On an Advanced plan, Sure Connect switches to the strongest of more than 600 carrier networks if your primary network weakens.
Does my internet keep working in a power outage?
The router needs power like any other internet equipment, but there is no cable or fiber line to be cut, so your service is not affected by a neighborhood line going down. Plug the router into a small UPS or battery pack, or run a Pocket 4G travel router, and you stay online while the power is out. That is also why many businesses pair our wireless failover backup at $29.95 per month with their main connection.
Coverage and plans
What is Sure Connect and how does multi-carrier failover work?
Sure Connect is a multi-carrier backup SIM included with every Advanced plan. Your primary SIM carries the unlimited high-speed data and the router defaults to it. Sure Connect occupies the second SIM slot with access to more than 600 carrier networks, so when the primary network weakens or drops the router automatically switches to the strongest available signal. That is what keeps Advanced plans online in more than 99% of the United States.
How much of the country do you cover?
Our standard 4G network covers roughly 90% of the United States. Adding Sure Connect on an Advanced plan extends that to more than 99%, because the multi-carrier SIM can reach more than 600 carrier networks instead of a single one.
Can I use this in an RV or while traveling?
Yes. Our Pocket 4G travel router is built for RVs, campsites, road trips and remote work. It is small enough to carry with you and needs no installation.
Business, travel and short-term use
Do you offer backup internet for a business?
Yes. Our wireless failover service starts at $29.95 a month and acts as a backup line only. When your cable or fiber connection drops, your payments, phones, cameras and cloud systems keep working.
Can I rent internet for just a few days?
Yes. Our daily internet rental gives you a fully managed 5G or LTE hotspot by the day, which suits short job sites, pop-up events and brief trips where a monthly plan does not make sense.
How is this different from Starlink?
Starlink-type services connect through satellites. Our service runs on cellular 4G and 5G networks, so it sets up in minutes, works indoors and outdoors, and can be moved or carried with you.
Can I start on the Standard plan and upgrade later?
Yes. The Advanced plan with Sure Connect is offered as an option at checkout, so you can choose it whenever you are ready.
